Luke khoury - Sports Chiropractor
I'm Luke Khoury, a member of the team at KC The Sports Chiropractor.
Throughout my life I have been drawn toward physical activity and training endlessly in the gym or hitting the pavement to be strong and fit enough to compete in an array of sports from representative soccer, athletics and surf boat rowing to name a few.
Although my mind was strong, at times my body started to falter. Niggling injuries started creeping up on me, my knees and ankles would ache, my shoulders would grind and finally my lower back said enough is enough… something had to give!
I understand all too well the ups and downs of leading an active lifestyle and I find myself thinking back on whether I would have changed anything, plain and simply the answer is No! It is these trials and tribulations, which has shaped my respect and enthusiasm for understanding the machine that is our body.
When I finally appreciated there are health professionals out there who can and did assist me return to the sporting arena, I finally discovered what I wanted to be when I grew up. Spending hours on the Physiotherapist table during my soccer years, mending an ankle injury and later on being introduced to Chiropractic care after annihilating my back over-training, created an admiration and respect for these health practitioners, and so I started my journey.
Graduating from the University of Wollongong In 2004 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Exercise Science, I commenced rehabilitating individuals following workplace injuries assisting them to return to the workforce, and later on completing a Masters in Chiropractic from Macquarie University in 2009.
Outside of University, I further studied
Active Release Technique (ART) - Full Body Certified and Instructor
Musculo-Skeletal Dry needling
Kinesio-taping (Rock Tape)
Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation (DNS)
Running Technician (team at Enhance Running)
Functional Movement Screening Practitioner (FMS)
Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) / Advanced SFMA Certification

My dedication to stay current and involved in the latest research and treatment methods were further enhanced due to my involvement in the education of Masters students in the fields of Sports Medicine, Neurology, Orthopedics & Rehabilitation at Macquarie University from 2010 through till 2016.
